okay, so i bought a brand new xps for christmas, two of them actually, mine seems to always have some problems though. and when i actually looked in dxdiag it says i’m running 32 bit, but the other one is a 64 bit. they have all the same parts!
could this just be a 32 bit version of windows?? please help i’m tired of the errors and bugs. (ps. i HATE vista)

    Oooh an EQII player :P , I used to play. The black flickering is unrelated to your 32 bit processing, EQII is not a 64 bit process so it won’t affect it in the slightest. It probably just doesn’t like your quad core since EQII is written for single core and its very CPU heavy, it doesn’t use a lot of the video card (especially for shadows, turn them off if you have them on).
    Yes your CPU supports 64-bit processing. No your OS is not 64-bit. You have to use Vista, Windows XP 64-bit is worse. Or you could wait for Windows 7 / download and use the Beta, but you don’t seem computer handy, I wouldn’t recommend the second option.
    To the poster about the resolution settings, its not the same thing.

    Try going to the control pannel and then display or appearance and themes then on that box go to set the screen resolution or settings and check whether you can change from 32bit to 62bit. Mines running at 32 bit but I have the choice whether to change it to 16bit. Perhaps that’s the way the computer is supposed to run. I can run games with no problem..
