I have recently split up with my boyfriend and he is living in Beijing whilst I am in the UK. There are several files and all my music on the computer in Beijing which I need to get, is it possible to transfer all the files through the internet as opposed to having to physically get them from the computer?
They could be attached to an email. There are restrictions on size but there are a lot of free applications available to download to compress them. MP3′s are already compressed so there isn’t much point in compressing them again. It might be best to email them one file at a time.
If they are still too big to email, even after compression, the best way is to have them saved onto a flash memory card and posted by recorded & insured delivery.
It would be cheaper to buy the memory in Beijing.
You’ll want to use ftp (email will be tricky if there is a large amount of data due to attachment file size limits). There are loads of free ftp programs, try cuteftp.
