    Linux can do all three. For free.
    I used it on a surplus PC to act as a network firewall.
    I used it on a server that controlled some commercial tape backup software, though there are open source solutions that will do this as well.
    Most Linux installations have a variety of ways to do remote access, including RDP into Windows servers.
